Operating range sucks! Only works within 6-8 feet range.

This works well if you are close sufficient for it to be picked up. I tried it on 2 dissimilar PC’s. I used it using the Bluetooth adaptor that is included since that laptop does not have integrated Bluetooth. The operating distance was regarding 5-6 feet. Clearly not sufficient to use while sitting on the couch. The other laptop with integrated Bluetooth the distance increased more or less too with regards to 6-7 feet. Still not sufficient range for media center in the living room.
Even even though the range is significantly misleading (manual and specs says 10 meters), the devise does work well when you are close sufficient to the computer. Even though I give this a low rating, I will keep the keyboard because I may use it in my bedroom where my media center is within the operating range. It does work well for that short distance.
I have downgraded my review of this product effective 4/19/2011. I have now used this product for a couple of weeks. I have noticed that the battery life of this unit is likewise very poor. I have to charge it with regards to each other day. I would not buy this product again. I would not commend this product to anyone. Save your cash and buy something else.

Yes, this is the right one with bluetooth built in.

There are so numerous of these sold on Amazon, it took a good deal of time to sort through them to figure out which one was the real Rii Bluetooth Keyboard. The original has a bluetooth symbol on the keys and does not need a dongle to connect through USB, though it has one if you need it. It likewise comes in the manufacturer’s box as pictured and not the white bootleg box. This keyboard hooked up with my Iconia W500 tablet easily. I hooked up my tablet to my huge screen and used the keyboard in regards to 7 feet away and it worked fine. Once you pair it the basi primary time to your device you do not have to pair it each time you turn it on, just flip the power on and it will have to get started working. It is small, slim and does as advertised. I am very happy with it. The only thing that doesn’t make it a five for me is that you have to make sure you are in direct line of sight with not one thing blocking it, but that is no big deal to me. I am satisfied with my purchase.

RII Bluetooth Mini Keyboard

Overall I am impressed with this product. The unit itself feels sturdy, the key presses are solid and responsive*. The track pad is laid out well, with the right and left buttons in a good position. The back lighting is uniform allround the keypad, and formulates more than sufficient light to see even the blue Function choices for the keys (Mute and Pause specifically).
I would have liked to have a side scroll option on the track pad, as it is somewhat of a juggling act to hold the left mouse button down with one hand and scroll with the other (You may Function + Down which acts as Page Down).
As for the abysmal.. The provided Bluetooth dongle is garbage. As brought up in other reviews the range is with regards to 7 feet with DIRECT line of sight. For the HTPC in my bedroom I snaked a USB extension cable through to the corner of the desk to provide line of sight for the unit, but even with it there are occasional issues.
*I would not commend this product to be used in a typical living room HTPC setup, RII develops a Wireless RF version Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard with Touchpad (RT-MWK01) of this product with vastly superior range.
I would perfectly commend this product notwithstanding for a bedroom/apartment/dorm setting where range is not an issue.
